ICARO - our company philosophy forms the base for our success
For most of us, flying is a sport or hobby done in leisure time. Our motto is: Fly and relax, leave stress on the ground, feel the air and be at one with nature!
To be able to offer this to customers’ world wide, we work with best possible professionalism and commitment. Courage to stray from mainstream and openness for new things enable us to continually develop. Flexibility, responsibility and awareness for quality are our strengths and form the base for our technological edge in building paragliders. We put emphasis on communication within our company so that all ideas and skills from both our team and customers can be pooled together.
Our company Fly & more/ICARO has been DHV approved for years as a manufacturing, development, maintenance and repairs company.
We offer maintenance and repairs for both paragliders and hang gliders, bi annual checks, maintenance of harnesses and rescue systems with strict adhesion to the effective safety regulations. Use of best materials is a matter of course. Every ICARO-Paragliders is piece checked a second time before we deliver; all lines are measured and if desired, can be test flown by one of our team pilots.
The ICARO team lives for paragliding and loves flying. Our professional pilots do unaccountable test flights with all paragliders from the ICARO range. Years of experience in test flying, service and repairs guarantee absolute reliability.
Wolfgang Kaiser and his team fulfil highest demands by perfect organisation, high input from all team members and a very friendly work atmosphere. Our office service team is available all year and will answer your questions promptly and with competence.

Why choose ICARO products?
Quality Management:
Our company was the first in this sector to successfully achieve quality management certification ISO 9001. This QMS not only guarantees perfect products but also optimal internal company structure with strict control and safety standards.
Material:
ICARO uses only materials which have been tried and tested over time. All materials used to produce our paragliders are made in the EU (NCV, Edelrid, Liros, Maillon Rapide, Ackermann, Güth &Wolf).
Workmanship:
Since 2005, ICARO has set a new standard in workmanship: all exposed cut edges in the inner wing are sewn down, supporting seams are secured on the profile, and thin lines at the loops have a Kevlar inner core. Tolerances in line lengths, leading and trailing edges measurements are probably the lowest on the market. The common problem of two identical wings with completely different flight behaviour does not exist for ICARO customers.
Innovation:
ICARO chooses to integrate intelligent innovations in our wings, without huge financial output in tam-tam advertising. We prefer to invest in development. The list of ICARO innovations is long:
Air intake flaps along the leading edge, closed cells with fortification on the profile nose, super light construction for the inner wing, Dynema lines with Kevlar inner core at the loops, race risers with special accelerator, flow simulation with CFX, sail calculation in fully inflated state, partly elastic pull cable and many many small details. We also have a real XS size built especially for lightweight pilots, not just a scaled down S size with the typical loss of performance.
Security:
There has never been cause for the DHV to issue a security notification or a ban on quality certification for ICARO Paragliders.

Force 2
"FORCE 2 has achieved a high acceptance with a wide range of pilots as an uncomplicated, sport and fun orientated wing. Not only does FORCE 2 impress with simple handling on the ground and when starting but also with its turning and thermal behaviour. Optical highlights include its aerodynamic optimised leading edge with trapezoid openings.
Whether in gentle up winds, hammer hard thermals, long distance or gliding from your home grounds, with FORCE 2 every flight is pure enjoyment. It is in the lower DHV 1-2 area. FORCE 2 is well behaved in extreme flight situations and is the optimal wing for ambitious „new comers“, and pleasure pilots who value safety features.
ICE
ICE is no longer in production. The further development of the ICE is ICE2XC. Here is important information about ICE:
"In follow up on the successful LAMINAR series (3 times WM title in a row) our hang glider smithy brings out ICE, which sets a new course in the paraglider sport class.
The newest wing from ICARO is an eye catcher in the sky with an aspect ratio of 6 and an up to date design. Our DHV class 2 wing is aimed at experienced pilots who value a performance wing. Dynamic flight feeling and excellent climbing behaviour drew attention during the DHV test flights."
Cyber 2+
CYBER is almost a legend amongst flight schools. Cyber is available in fresh new colours and many improved details and is called Cyber 2+. Passive security, suitability for flight schools and its longevity are features which must be emphasized.
CYBER 2+ has the typical ICARO start behaviour: It fills easily, quickly and reliably. Performance and handling are second to no other class 1 wing. In contrary, even experienced pilots are amazed at its fine handling and excellent gliding abilities. CYBER 2+ has dirt discharge openings at the stabilo and improved risers. In combination with ENERGY harness from ICARO it is simple and agile to fly. Cyber 2+ gives the pilot a very safe feeling at every moment in flight, even in turbulences thanks to its stable canopy. CYBER 2+ is the right choice for every pilot who wants to relax and enjoy flying without having to change his wing every couple of years.
Instinct
Our ambitions were high: high passive security, good performance, direct and precise steering via the brakes and weight shift. All this was not a problem for our experienced design team. However, we also wanted to create a wing suitable for acro and freestyle. Mission accomplished! INSTINCT is a wing with which you can fly thermals stress free, long distance flights as well as breathtaking acro manoeuvres in the sky. INSTINCT is an ideal partner for the adventurous pilot. Fly unknown routes, do new manoeuvres with the agility and performance of a real intermediate and the stability and safety of a class 1 wing. We are certain that INSTINCT is a paraglider with which the majority of pilots will fly, better and more relaxed. An elaborate material mix which includes the newest cloths from Porcher Marine and highest workmanship quality make INSTINCT particularly worthwhile. Either soaring in a gentle up wind, XC flight, hammer hard thermals, gliding from your home grounds or freestyle: INSTINCT is a fun wing for every flight situation!
Incanto
A thoroughbred performance class 1-2 wing? It exists: INCANTO! The amazing wing incorporates all the latest technical developments of our design team. INCANTO is simple to start, dynamic, precise, draws in thermals and gently cushions turbulences. Even though INCANTO is a racy performance wing, after just a short flight time, the pilot will be pleasantly reassured by its safety reserves.
Fine handling converts the pilots steering impulses accurately without delay. Many new technical features were combined in this performance oriented wing. Its refinement is in detail: basic form, optimised leading egged and canopy tension, a new profile family in conjunction with special curvature of the canopy. Its real strength is in acceleration. A newly constructed riser lets the INCANTO glide better when accelerated then at trim speed. INCANTO is an optimal wing not only for talented beginners but also for ambitious sport class and long distance pilots.
Ice 2XC
ICE 2XC is a pedigree XC wing, optimized handling, performance and safety. It’s not for nothing that „XC“ stands in its name. New is a flap system, the Air Intake System, positioned at either wing end in the lower sail. It provides a higher internal pressure on this part of the wing. Consequently the canopy is more stable and has increased stability and safety to counteract soft outer wings and folding susceptibility. Our design team was thus able to make handling sportier with increased safety. Ice2Xc has excellent climbing characteristics in both rough spring thermals and in weak conditions. The new ICE guarantees dynamic flight feeling for XC sport class pilots with simple launch characteristics and high safety potential.
Maverick
One or other paparazzo spied the new prototype from ICARO during the test phase in the Dolomites and elsewhere and mistook it for a new competition wing.
It is now on the market and it is a simple to fly XC class 2 wing with convincing performance data. Professional race risers, four different sail cloths which are selectively used in the canopy according to tension and weight, a mix of five different line diameters in Dynema and Kevlar give MAVERICK a definite performance edge on other comparable class 2-3 wings. Even opened right up, going at full throttle, MAVERICK can still be easily steered and controlled.
Test pilots at ICARO prefer to fly acro in their free time so it is no wonder at all that MAVERICK was designed with very direct and precise handling. Other highlights include the new graphic design, elegant wing form and many refined technical details on the wing tension, profile line geometry.
Cidan
Without a doubt, CIDAN is the most elegant glider in the ICARO fleet. It is a unique high performer which fulfils highest optical expectations. CIDAN incorporated a multiplicity of technical highlights:
* high aspect ratio
* aerodynamic optimised basic form
* high strength competition lines
* risers with trimmer and acceleration system
* reinforcements on all lines points and levels.
CIDAN is our performance wing for all competition pilots and all ambitious pilots.
Nikita²
Nikita² is a consistent further development of Nikita with which the “against the grain” team won the World Championships. With an optimal surface load, not only are all extreme manoeuvres including Infinity Tumbling possible but also all transient manoeuvres with a fully opened canopy. The construction and material of the new Nikita were adapted to accommodate the stress of an Infinity Tumbling manoeuvre. Line geometry was modified so that the risers are held apart with as much force as possible in order to minimise the risk of twisting in MacTwist and other similar manoeuvres. Nikita² is not suitable for acro beginners in spite of its high safety potential. We have a special version of our model Instinct: made for professionals and creates a new dynamic dimension.
Twice
Finest handling and simple launch behaviour even in flat gradients and with little wind are probably the most outstanding features of this tandem wing. These features, normally found only in solo wings, are due to super short lines, adapted profile thickness along the whole canopy and a special curvature of the canopy. It is as agile as a solo wing, turns beautifully in the thermals and thus encourages enjoyable long distance flights for two. TWICE is fitted trimmers and a take off weight of 140 – 225 kg which covers quite a large weight area and is also very suitable for professional tandem pilots. TWICE has separate A-risers and a B-stall aid for quick descent. For an even faster descent, TWICE offers as one of the very few suited wings C-stall with which you can achieve sink rates of up to 12m/sec without much muscle power and is gentle on material.
Helmets
All helmets are made in Italy using High-Tech materials. They offer highest safety standards in accordance with the CE-Norm. Thousands of pilots have been won over by their low weight, non-restrictive field of view and pleasant wearing comfort.
The internal padding is easily removable in the 4fight and Iguana helmet models. It can be washed and replaced if necessary.
Another plus point for ICARO Helmets: more and more pilots use their helmets as protection from cold, wind or sun and value the fact that they can change their visor at any time (transparent, tinted or tinted/mirrored) by just simply turning two screws. A standard delivery of 4fight LT (long tail) includes a tinted visor. The visor is an optional extra for all other helmet models (with the exception of Cutt3 and SkyRunner Demi-Jet - no visor option available).
4fight
The internal padding in all 4fight models is very simple to remove. It is washable and can be replaced if necessary.
4fight LT (long tail)
This exclusive model has an aerodynamic helmet bowl and extravagant outfit. Delivery includes a tinted visor.

Harnesses
Energy
ENERGY is a comfortable all-round harness for both hobby pilots and frequent flyers.
The special leg loop attachment enables a comfortable position while in flight and also allows unrestricted freedom of movement for optimal mobility at take off and landing. The hinged seat board is flexible at take off and landing. The chest belt is easily and accurately adjustable. The rescue container is a standard attachment to the right hand side, optionally on the left side or to the front – in this case two side pockets are available. Designed by Woody Valley.
Energy2
Revolutions begin in the mind! Our R&D team developed a technique whereby the pilot automatically slips into the correct sitting position after take off. We call it EPSS (Easy-Position-Safety-System). With EPSS, the pilot also has direct contact to the paraglider and has an optimal position for all flight conditions.
The rescue container is under the seat board so as not to imbalance the pilot. The T-Look closing system simplifies getting into the harness. The new optical design rounds off ENERGY2, which is available in three sizes S/M/L.
ICARO harnesses are made in EU member countries using best quality materials.
Energy light
This lightweight harness can be used for fun and long distance flights and also for trekking. ENERGY LIGHT harness has excellent flight characteristics and is as light as a feather. By using lightweight high strength special Cordura material and lightweight nylon, lightweight fittings and a carbon seat board all succeed in reducing its weight to a sensational 3,4 kg - without reducing safety features.
The rescue container is under the seat board, this harness has an air bag protector and an additional 3 cm thick foam protector! Furthermore Energy Light has generous adjustment possibilities for seat comfort, a large back pocket and two side pockets.
ENERGY LIGHT is available in three sizes S/M/L and in the colour combination black/red/silver.
Paramotor
ICARO paragliders are best suited to "flying with thrust" due to their simple start off behaviour. The above average gliding performance of our wings guarantees economic air movement using little fuel. Due to pleasant steering forces, you can relax and cruise across the landscape for a long as you like. Stable lines, optimized strain-relief elements and precise workmanship fulfil highest requirements for material and longevity and also preserve the monetary value of the equipment. We would be delighted to give you individual consultation about which ICARO paraglider is best suited to your motor needs.
For each individual paraglider model, we can offer you special ICARO motor risers which have been developed observing specifications for motored flight. ICARO motor risers have many functional details and are an optimal partner for free flight, backpack motor, trike or "flyke". Whether installed at ICARO or bought as an optional accessory, Icaro motor risers are very successful for paramotoring and at the same time can also be used for free flight.
We supply helmets for paramotor and UL from the quality Italian brand ICARO 2000. They are elegantly designed and have many functional details. For further details and also for information about the new SKYRIDER helmet, please refer to "helmets"
* the trimmer (1) can be operated easily and provides optimal adaption to the airspeed. A small asymmetrical adjustment to both trimmers balances the torque of the engine. Bothersome one-sides balancing of the brake is gone.

Accessories
Backpack
The type of backpack used does not affect the flight characteristics of a paraglider, but it does influence the way to the start-off area. Many starting areas are reached by a short walk and some pilots carry their equipment to the summit themselves. The backpack has to be big enough to contain all necessary equipment but must be also comfortable to carry. It must not slip from side to side not tilt back nor must it shift the body’s centre of gravity otherwise the walk to the start off area will be a nightmare. Our backpack is a perfect carrying system. It has a clever mechanism to compress the contents of the backpack so that nothing can slip around inside. It also has three smaller inner pockets and a large outer pocket which is easily accessible. The material used was chosen for durability to withstand the stress and strain of an airport check-in and is at the same time lightweight. Robust, tried and tested zips can be padlocked.
To enhance design, we abstained from cheap inscriptions. Our own logo is stitched with up-to-date technology. This backpack is not only very practical, robust and reliable but also optically appealing!

Why choose an ICARO rescue system? Because our rescue systems are constructed for extreme situations - robust, stable and almost unlimited applications. They are already well known for fastest opening times, minimum sink rate, small pack volume and low weight. All five models are round heads - central lines - with drawn in vertex.
Our rescue systems are made from finest materials by an experienced parachute manufacturer which not only a guarantee for high durability and safety but also for excellent quality and perfection.
We offer a large variety of sizes and we have a suitable model for every intended use. We even have a model with 1,6 kg in weight and with a maximum load haul of up to 105 kg which is suitable for Freestyle and competition pilots to be used as an optimal second rescue.
